The idea of BEST was introduced to us by our first president, Stefan Süßmaier, while doing his doing Erasmus studies in France. After coming back he was very motivated and wanted to bring the BEST spirit to Aachen. He told his idea to some of his friends and soon convinced them to help him on this adventure. By the end of November 2012, we managed to officialy become an organisation of our University, the RWTHAachen University. In the same month we were officialy founded and applied to become an Observer of Board of European Students of Technology. In the picture you can see our first members while applying for BEST.

In the beginning of 2013 our group was accepted to become an Observer Group of BEST. As an Observer you are not a member of BEST yet and thus have to accomplish some tasks in order to become one.

In April 2013 our group attended their first General Meeting of BEST, where all groups and international bodies of the organisation are present. At this meeting the two delegates, Viktoria von Drachenfels and Norman Schaffer, presented BEST Aachen to the whole of BEST for the first time.

After attending the General Meeting it was time for our first event. In August our group hosted and participated in the so called Joint Board Training (JBT). Together with the boards of the groups of Trondheim, Stockholm, Gdansk and Ghent our board members got trained on various topics to help them during their mandate. The event was a great success and after it we were motivated to host more events.

In the end of September and the beginning of October, our group hosted there second meeting. The Board Autumn Meeting is a meeting of the international board of BEST where they work on current topics which are concerning our organisation. We provided them with an working environment and brought the city of Aachen and the German culture closer to them.

In November 2013, our group attended the 2nd General Meeting of the year - the Presidents Meeting in Brno. At this meeting our was presented by Dario Sarik and Norman Schaffer and officially applied to become a so called baby member of BEST. The groups had the opportunity to vote on this decision and gave our group full trust. Since November 2013 BEST Aachen is an official member of Board of European Students of Technology.

Now we want to bring BEST closer to the students of our University. In order do to that, we are going to organise more events in the future.
